Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Pace. By using Pace, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Pace does

Pace is a reading and study tool for dense PDFs and long-form documents. It may provide document import, text extraction, speed-reading playback, review mode, highlights, notes, bookmarks, cleanup tools, sync, and exports.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account. You must provide accurate account information and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your content

You retain ownership of documents, notes, highlights, bookmarks, and other content you submit to Pace. You grant Pace permission to process, store, display, transform, and transmit your content as needed to provide the service.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, process, and use documents in Pace. Do not upload documents if doing so would violate copyright, confidentiality duties, privacy rights, institutional rules, or any applicable law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Pace. This includes not using Pace to:

  • Violate laws, third-party rights, or contractual restrictions.
  • Upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to disrupt the service.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization.
  • Interfere with service reliability, rate limits, security controls, or infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer or scrape Pace except as allowed by law.

No professional advice

Pace is a reading and productivity tool. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, academic, research, or professional advice. You are responsible for checking sources and making your own judgments.

Accuracy and availability

Document extraction, cleanup, highlights, reading progress, and exports may be incomplete or inaccurate. Pace may change, pause, or discontinue features, and the service may be unavailable from time to time.

Third-party services

Pace may depend on third-party services for hosting, authentication, storage, processing, analytics, monitoring, and other operations. Your use of those parts of Pace may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies.

Termination

You may stop using Pace at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for the service or other users, or used Pace unlawfully.

Disclaimers

Pace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pace and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as Pace changes. Continued use of Pace after an update means you accept the revised terms.
